Design an exhibition space in Aubière:

The project involves the design of a building situated on the southern slope, facing a regional road. From the first exploration of the site, the sound and visual impact of the road was immediately perceptible, prompting the need to address this issue in the building's design. To mitigate this impact, special attention was given to sound insulation and specific framing.

The primary goal of this exhibition space is to create distinct atmospheres for each area, thus captivating visitors in varied environments. Access to the building begins from the lower level, where a terrace invites discovery with the first artwork, meticulously installed under a glass dome.

Upon entering the reception hall, visitors encounter a spiral staircase providing access to all rooms. Ascending this staircase leads to a transition into a darker space, revealing a sound and visual installation on a screen that follows the curve of the wall.

The tour continues with a return to the central staircase, leading to a brighter area where a window offers a panoramic view of the Gergovie Plateau. This space will host paintings by Anri Sala. The visit concludes as visitors exit through the door on the top floor, allowing them to explore other exhibition spaces.

The building's structure and materials were chosen to harmonize with the environment. The sections embedded in the ground have a concrete structure, while the above-ground sections benefit from a wooden structure. The exterior cladding will be treated oak wood, and the interior walls will be painted white to enhance brightness and expand the space. The floor of the basement and ground floor will be quartz concrete.

The circular shape of the building guides visitors in a coherent flow, creating visual fluidity. The works of Anri Sala, focused on narrative progression, enrich the experience by telling a story through the spaces.
